What we know as the pizza has slowly evolved throughout the last few hundred years. Most Europeans believed the fruit to be poisonous so many refused to eat anything that had tomato in it,even though the tomato was brought to Europe in the sixteenth century. As some of them with many other delicacies in the corner of the world wide today the poor of Naples resorted into adding of the tomato into its toppings to their well prepared flatbread and thus the pizza we know today was born.And it has got a wonderful introduction to its start.Its is one of the favorite now a days. The queen of Naples was such a fan of pizzas in the eighteenth century that she constructed a special oven in her summer palace just for the baking of pizzas. In the nineteenth century, an extra special pizza was made for Queen Margheritadi Savoia by a pizzaioli(or pizza) chef named Raffaele Esposito. He called it the "Pizza Margherita" because he used tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, which have the three colors of the Italian flag.

Claiming they have the best pizza in the nation,regional pizzas in the United s States have built up much fanfare and rivalry across the country with a few main regions. A lot of citizens participate in contests and polls determining what is most fitting, but usually it is a decision of personal opinion.
