Helpful Hints To Deal With Acne

By Judith Allison

Acne is probably the most common skin disease experienced during the teenage years. Males and females alike experience increase in the androgens hormone causing overproduction of keratin and sebum. This results in the clogging of skin pores in the creation of acne. If acne is not taken care of properly, little black spots on the skin will begin to appear. It will be a reminder for the rest of your life that you chose not to take care of the situation.

Today, you will find thousands of products aimed at curing this condition. You do have to be careful however, as some of these are just fly-by-night products that will have no effect on the condition of acne. Products come in various types and forms you need to be aware of them:

-Cleansers

-Toners

-cleansers

-Soaps

-face scrubs and masks

-scarring treatment

Each and every one of the above categories serves a specific purpose. It can become quite confusing as you see these ads and trying to figure out which one is for you. It is further complicated by the ease which you can obtain these products. You walk in to any drugstore or market and their aisles upon aisles of products aimed at skin treatment. It doesn't get any easier when you go on the Internet as a search engine will literally supply you with millions of sites that can supply you with what you are looking for. In order to not put yourself in the position where you're using a product that will not treat your specific condition, it is suggested that you consult with either your physician or the pharmacist.

It is no secret that acne is embarrassing. Nobody wants to be the victim of finger-pointing and jokes. This can result in a rush to treat it and sometimes treating it wrongly. Undertaking acne treatment can also be quite expensive. If not treated correctly, it can result in not only a worsened condition but also cost you a significant amount of money that was spent for the wrong reasons. To avoid this here are some home remedy tips in treating acne:

1. Drink a lot of water. Sounds simple but it is very effective. One of the reasons that you get acne is because you have toxins in your system. Drinking a significant amount of water will flush them out of your system. It is suggested that you drink at least eight glasses of water a day.

2. Garlic is another quick fix. Simply rub it on the affected areas a couple of times a day for a few weeks and you should see an improvement.

3. Rosehip seed oil has also proven to be quite effective. This is a special type of oil that is commonly used in cosmetics and is very effective in scar removal. Applying it twice a day for about 15 minutes is the proper technique.

4. A cure that won't cost you a penny and could actually prevent you from ever getting acne is eating healthy. When you are teenager eating things like nuts, fruits, vegetables, whole wheat products and lean meats does not sound as attractive as a nice juicy burger, a slice of pizza and a cookie for dessert but it will keep your appearance much healthier.

5. Another item that you can apply directly to the skin is apricot juice. The applying it directly to the affected areas for about 10 minutes is an inexpensive natural way to help your acne.

Follow these helpful tips and you'll be well on your way to curing and preventing acne. Not addressing it or simply ignoring altogether is definitely not the way to go. It will only result in your acne becoming more serious in a larger embarrassment in public. - 14915
