Traffic and Lead Generation Can Happen By Creating eBooks

By Stu McLaren

The word on the street is that eBooks aren't worth creating and that there is no money in them. I'm not on that band wagon and within this article I am going to lay out a few reason why you should be creating eBooks to act as a lead generation tool and increast your online traffic.

Why should you create an eBook?

One, you will get more visits to your website if you decide to ever give your eBook away.

Secondly, if they are coming to your website they are looking for information you might have. You are already in their mind, so if you have an eBook with the information they are looking for you're set!

I'll give you an example. I was asked to be the best man in my friend's wedding about a year ago. I was really excited but knew nothing about what I was supposed to do.

I turned to the Internet and began searching for tips, instruction and step by step process of what I was supposed to do because I really had no idea. What I found was that I couldn't find one site with all the information, so I had to piece the information together from multiple sites. It became some what frustrating because I knew if there was an eBook that just put everything together in a simple manner I would have purchased it.

How do I know that? Because I have bought eBooks in a similar nature, for various other topics, outlining step by step what I needed to do.

The reason I bought those books was number one, I was searching for the information. Number two, I came to a website that had packaged that information into a step by step procedure.

Next, here's another reason why you should be creating an eBook. You can advertise your products or services within the eBook.

Just think of your products acting like a funnel, the marketing funnel. Your eBooks are used as products at the top of the funnel. As you make your way down the funnel the products increase in price.

In order to make your costumers more likely to purchase your higher-priced items, you can use your eBooks as a tool to build your trust with them and demonstrate the level of valuable information you provide.

Ebooks can easily be the way you show people how much value you provide and this will only make them want to work with you more. People will buy from those they feel they can trust and gain knowledge from, rarely not from someone they have never heard of before.

You are creating an introductory product in which you can then introduce your other higher-priced products and services within. If people want to take the next step you have giving them the opportunity to do so.

You can advertise your other products and services making your eBook become a platform.

One thing you do have to remember and I want to make this clear is that you don't want to make your eBook just one big sales pitch. Always make sure you are providing value in the eBook because it is your reputation that is on the line. Costumers or clients will be viewing that eBook to what value you can add to their business.

It's like this article you are reading right now. I want all of you to purchase my other products, come to my seminar, to work closer with me. But in order to do that, I know that I've got to gain your trust and I've got to demonstrate the value of the information that I have and can provide to you.

Providing articles is one way I like to do that. Within each one I try to cram as much information as I can so that you just can't wait to read my next article or go purchase some of my products.

This philosophy should be taken within your own business and applied to your eBooks. Cram as much information into your eBooks as possible, while mixing in information about your other products and services without it sounding like one big sales pitch. People will be less likely to do more business with you if they see your eBooks as just being sale pitches, it will just turn them off.

Using an eBook as a platform for your other products and services as well as driving traffic and making leads are all great reasons why you should be creating eBooks.

By exploring your creativity ideas will come to you when you need them the most!
